Sometimes when baking, you can feel stuck in a rut. While I never lack ideas or inspiration, I find they can all blend together, into a cakey mess! When I receive a new order from a client, it excites me to learn the ideas of others. I find the best products come when I’m approached with a concept, and by adding my input the results are amazing! I feel that was the case with these cupcakes.
The basic idea was simple: trees. If you know me well, you know all of my desserts must pass a minimum height before they can be served or sold. For me, when a dessert is taller, it makes more of a statement, and is guaranteed to pack a punch. We started off with the idea of piping pine trees with icing on the cupcakes. Sounds good, but where’s the fun in that?!?! By making the trees out of chocolate, the cupcake becomes more desirable, and not just for taste! I love the way the chocolate and green icing work together, and in the picture, you can almost see a forest.
Oh, how I love when an idea comes to life!
