Baby showers have been done throughout time, and are a tradition for all newborns. Baby shower cakes are especially fun to do because on the creative ways to decorate, and bake the items. Baby showers are an outlet for creativity, as there isn’t a real classic, besides the stereotypical colours, pink and blue. In looking through this occasion, I have gathered all my Baby Shower projects, and how they were extra special.
Feet are commonly associated with babies, so it seemed fitting to do a cake with that direction. Using a rounded “Paisley” pan, it gives the contour, with a fondant cut-out providing the perfect image. The cakes were baked with a citrus spin, Lemon and Orange, as they are both tasty, simple, and elegant for a festive occasion. The one cake said “Emma Lynn Shantz”, and the other said “May you walk with God on this journey”. This cake was cute, fun, and popular.
When there is a large group, sometimes all cake isn’t practical, due to budget and time. Pretzels make the perfect addition, with their flawless, simple look and sweet and salty taste. Pretzels can be decorated to any design, and can meet your needs. These ones were an accompaniment to a cake, to ensure everyone was fed.
These 2 cakes, one for a boy and one for a girl, use a fun, exciting element to create a whimsical vibe, and add some dimension to an otherwise flat cake. Retro strollers, made from chocolate are exciting, and creative, but also practical as they can be kept as a memento from the occasion. As an addition, on the sides there are coloured candy sticks, cut to the height of the cake, to tie the look together. These are available to purchase at most bulk food stores, for a reasonable price. They add a candy element which all kids love, and add some more to the cake to give it an interesting look. These cakes were for two babies, Alexandra and Adam.
This cake was one of my earlier attempts, so it was a little simpler, and not as well executed. This cake was inspired by building blocks, and the playfulness that’s associated with them. They were placed to spell out the babies name, Bethany. The blocks were made of fondant, and stacked to create dimension. There were also hearts placed on the blocks to add some more interest and excitement. The flavour of this cake was Red Velvet, with Cream Cheese Icing.
The final project I’ve done for baby showers is Cake Pops! Cake pops are essentially cake rolled into balls and dipped in chocolate. They are a great portable option and are the perfect addition to a cake. These ones were done in Chocolate and Vanilla, and drizzled with Pink Chocolate to connect with the rest of the theme in the Baby Shower.
If you saw anything here you particularly liked, you can order them for your own occasion. On the Order page you can order these or your own style and I can accommodate. I hope these Baby Shower designs inspired you to get creative!
